Tashi Delek! Time really flies and the year 2010 is coming to a close. We trust 2010 has been a fruitful year for you and your family As you know, the Grand Mani Project is one of KKDSKL yearly events. Ending the year with such an auspicious event, coupled with the enthusiastic and sincere chanting by members and devotees, will no doubt bring forth immeasurable blessings to one and all. We sincerely pray that this auspiciousness and the good tidings of 2010 will continue through to the New Year 2011.
We are very happy to inform you that Venerable Tsultrim Rinpoche and his entourage, together with our Resident Lama Zotpa, will be conducting this Grand Mani Project from 15th December to lst January 2010. Rinpoche was here for Wesak 2008, hence need no introduction.
CHENREZIG and The Six-Syllable Mani Mantra
Chenrezig is looked upon as the manifestation of the loving-kindness and compassion of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. He has a special affinity with beings in samsara and can manifest into various forms to help beings who are in varying kinds of needs. The Buddha prophesied that : The Great Compassionate Bodhisattva (Guan Shi Yin Pusa) will manifest as KARMAPA to liberate all sentient beings from samsaric sufferings. Therefore, the practice of Chenrezig is particularly very important in the Karma Kagyu Lineage.
OM MANI PADME HUNG The Six-Syllable Mani mantra of Chenrezig represents the loving-kindness and compassion of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas manifested as sound. Chanting the mantra is like practising the Six Perfections and is able to close the doors to the six realms. In this life, one is able to remove obstacles, have success in life, harmony in family, healthy and prosperous, and all wishes fulfilled. In the next life, it is certain that one will be able to take rebirth in pure land.
EMPOWERMENTS
Besides chanting, we have added in a few empowerments and pujas for the benefits of new and old members and devotees and these are listed below:-
- 4-Arm Chenrezig Empowerment
- Zambhala Empowerment
- Gyashi (400 Offerings) Puja

Information and Benefits of various Empowerments and Pujas
Gyashi (400 Offerings) Puja
Gyashi (400 Offerings) Puja is to pacify the 4 maras. All the obstacles that we had experienced were caused by them. They symbolize the 4 types of obscurations. The offerings of 100 lamps, 100 tsa tsa, 100 tormas and 100 human form figures help to pacify the obscurations of knowledge, obscurations of the five poisons, obscurations of karmic causes, and obscurations of habitual tendencies respectively. Performing this puja will increase one¿s lifespan and merits and purify one¿s defilement and sufferings, particularly when a person is severely sick, has a bad dream, encountering bad omen or misfortune and anticipating bad omen through prediction.
IMPORTANT NOTE : Please pack in an envelope for each person : 1) hair strands, 2) a small piece of worn clothing, 3) finger nail. For persons unable to attend the puja personally, they need to pack a piece of dough which has been rubbed on parts of their bodies which have sickness. The dough should not be rubbed on the forehead or heart area.
Vajrasattva Empowerment
He is a Buddha in his Sambhogakaya form and is well known for helping practitioners to purify their negative karma thereby helping to pacify various illnesses and hindrances. Vajrasattva is also widely considered to be representative of infinite deities; therefore when we practice his Saddhana, it is like practicing devotion and faith to infinite deities and this will help us to purify any samaya (commitments) transgression against other deities and Gurus.
Zambhala Empowerment
Zambhala is a wealth deity and an emanation of Buddha Ratnasambhava. He has increasing quality and is the essence of generosity. His aspirations are to help the poor and those suffering from ill torture. There are five Zambhala: red, yellow, black, white and green. Zambhala vows to bring wealth, prosperity, success and fortune to sentient beings and to destroy obstacles. He also increases spiritual wealth including luck, long life, and wisdom intelligence.
The Auspicious & Meritorious Mani Lamps & The Five Zambhala Wish-fulfilling Wealth Vases
The Mani Lamps and the Wealth Vases will be blessed during the Mani Project. Sponsors can take them home after the puja for offering.
1) Sponsors of Mani Lamps will be able to receive blessings of Chenrezig, obtain wisdom, wealth and enjoyment.
2) Sponsors of the Wealth Vases can take them back to offer on their shrines, shops, factories, offices or any place where money and precious items are kept. This can help to attract good luck and wealth.
Interested sponsors of the above two precious objects can register and make payment at the centre.
Lastly
We should respectfully bring Chenrezig to mind and sincerely recite the six-syllable mantra, not only for the benefit of oneself but make dedications to all sentient beings so that they are free from all sufferings as well.
We look forward to seeing you and thank you for your kind and loyal support. May the blessing of the Triple Gem be with you and your family always.
